We could write for pages and pages about our trip, but the purpose of this post is to highlight one particular aspect of Costa Rica. Costa Rica recycles. They recycle everywhere, even in the most remote locations where running water and electricity seem like they might not exist. Recycling is just a part of life in Costa Rica. The Ticos and Ticas are concerned with the environment and doing what they can to protect it. Recycling and environmental consciousness is just a way of life in a country where tourism remains their main industry.
It is inspiring to see a country commit itself to environmental responsibility. They have been able to recognize the need for environmental protection and as a result they have had tremendous success in the eco tourism industry. Costa Rica should be used as an example for the rest of the world regarding recycling and environmental issues.
If you've been to Costa Rica or are just a fan of recycling, leave a comment below. We'd love to hear about your experiences.
